It sounds like your car won't move when you release the clutch while in gear. This has nothing to do with CV Joints or GearBox Oil level (unless the GearBox has frozen), but is probably caused by your clutch Master or Slave Cylinders.
Before you add oil, make sure you are checking in the right place for the level. Different GBoxes have different points, so more model specific info would help here. Over-filling the box can be bad; maybe you should reconsider "no name's" response. A GBox with no oil will run for a while, start giving grinding noises, and finally LOCK UP. Adding oil to a level higher than specified (especially grossly overfilling the box) can blow out seals and cause the box to destroy itself because of the same lack of lubrication.
