The computer can tell you lots of things. Have you found that the "Info" button on the dash changes the display mode? You will have one of two different displays depending on whether the car is auto or manual. If manual, the bargraph shows instantaneous fuel consumption. If auto, instantaneous fuel consumption is one of the numeric display modes (mpg), since the area for the bargraph is taken up with the gear display. Average fuel consumption (mpg accompanied by a "phi" character - a zero with a slash through it) is another mode and is calculated from when you last reset the display. Other modes are miles of fuel left, outside temperature and battery voltage.
I am assuming you are resident in the US (only because the majority of SaabNet users are) and that your EDU has been programmed to work in miles and gallons.
I can give you more info on programming it, resetting it and otherwise using it, but I will have to wait until I am at home and can read the manual.
Below 17C the ACC goes into "low" mode (blower on full, cold all the time). There is no temperature setting below 17C. It also goes into "high" mode (blower on full, warm all the time) above a certain temperature (28C perhaps? I never have it that warm).
To switch on the rear screen heater, I think it's the top right button on the ACC. The button to the left of it, I think, switches the whole ACC into demist mode, including the rear screen heater. I can't remember and my car is at the dealer today.
Which stereo system do you have? Is it the Saab system with the little detachable panel on the left (with nine buttons, I think)? This is made by Clarion (for future reference) and is what is fitted to my '96. The cassette doesn't pop out when I switch off the ignition.
