If you have an Aero, then putting the child seat in the middle would present a bit of a challenge, you need to rig something up to fill the gap between the rear bucket seats; otherwise the seat would rock and in a bad sense in the unlikely event of a collision.
I have an Aero and a regular 9K, the bench seat for the non-Aero is more friendly to an infant seat.
Put some thick towels on the leather(?) seat first before you put the infant seat on so you don't mark the fine leather surface. I actually found the towels help in securing the car seat. The cushion material is very good however, any indentation would bounce back even after years of car seat use.
As for the tether, not sure what the Canadian model has, the tether points are supposed to be the couple of bolts right underneath the rear hatch. You can't miss those, they are on the lift over. Not sure the current infant seats have such long tethers. I have not used any tether.
I have two kids, now pretty much outgrown their car seats but one still on a booster.
Best wishes to you and family.
