It's a bit different situation where one company has bought out another, as opposed to the Acura/Lexus/Infiniti, where the upscale/luxury model line was always within the parent company.

But for sure, there are some GM parts going into the new Saabs, though I'd say they are more akin to Saturn than Chevy, I think. I have wondered where Saab is going to fit into the GM lineup, if you can even call it that. You've got Chevy theoretically anchoring the low end except for the highish end Vette. Or is Saturn the low end? About the same price as Chevy, what's the difference?? Remaining major lines (I probably am missing some here) would be Saab and Cadillac, I guess the distinction most people would like to make there are that Cadillacs are big, floaty, gas guzzling cars.

I just wonder if the 'big ones' are gobbling up the 'small' manufacturers because the smaller ones offer a product they don't have in their lineup, because they think they can make a profit by selling the former competitor's cars, or simply because they want to eliminate the competition and couldn't care less what happens after the buyout.

Time will tell, I suppose...eventually we will all be driving electric fuel-less anti-gravity vehicles, I imagine, licensed in some way by Microsoft...
