prevention- stop objects from bouncing on hood. No more parking under apple trees.
cure-try removing the insulation, and, with a block of wood on the cosmetic side and your trusty body hammer on the other, try gently tapping out the dents. GENTLY being the operative word here. Pound until just shy of being even, they'll be less noticeable then if they stick up higher than the surrounding sheet metal.
Don't be surprised if the paint cracks on a larger sized dent, either when you're doing it or shortly thereafter. Same thing happens if you have a 'pro' person doing the PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) technique.
