Bill has it right. The JT, remember, is a 3" diameter, whereas the
stock downpipe is 2 1/4". The only way one could utilize the stock
cat' would be with a reducer. The later model 9000's, from '96 to '98,
have the cat' mounted directly under the engine, and the earlier models,
like mine ('92), are mounted a little further back. Just remember, the
'96 -98's have OBDII, which means if you go with the JT and a new cat',
you'll have to add a threaded boss to the cat' for the 2nd O2 sensor.
I'm not sure if this holds for non-American model 9000's, but am assuming
you're in the states.
