Hello all,

I'm new to the Saab world, having just yesterday acquired a '94 9k CSE 5-speed non-turbo with 169k miles. (Well, I'm not totally new; my brother-in-law has a 900 Convertible which he rolled into a snow-filled ditch last winter with minimal damage to himself and the car.) I know the previous owner, who had all scheduled services done at the dealer. The car's in good shape and came with all original paperwork including the window sticker! It has just a few issues I need to address:

1. The A/C was finicky - didn't work when hot. Thanks to this BB, I adjusted the compressor clutch air gap, and all is well!

2. The blower motor for the ACC is noisy in a rhythmic way, frequency increases with fan speed. Not quite a clicking, but close. No, it doesn't squeal or make gurgling noises on right turns. The noise is substantially less when I close the center vents. I really don't want to put a new blower into this car, or even pull the old one out if I don't have to. I'll clean the AC drain hose tonight to be sure they are not the problem. Thoughts?

3. The motor knocks upon quick/abrupt application of the throttle - smooth application doesn't make it knock. I pulled the plugs today, which were pretty fresh but gapped at +/-1.7mm. I reset gap to 1.1mm (stock per the owner's manual) but the problem remains. I'm thinking dirty injectors causing a momentary lean condition and will try Techron - any other thoughts?

4. The sunroof shade rattles some when open - any easy fixes for this?

5. With the rear windows down 1/2 or more they make a terrible whistling. I've seen other reports of this on this BB but no solutions. Anyone?

6. Front height adjustment motor for driver's seat is very, very, very weak. Anything I can do to try to breath some life into this? Not a big issue as I'm OK with where it is, but the Wife wants it lower for the rare occasions she'll be driving.

I can't think of anything else right now, but it's only been 48 hours, so there will be more I'm sure....

Scott
