To access the light bulbs, you remove the top of the dashboard. That sound hairy, but it really just consists of knowing where the hidden screws are and taking them out.
Go to Quasi's procedure site

And look down to 'interior procedures' - removing dash top. You'll need some torx bits, but all it really takes is some time and patience. I've had a little practice, so it takes me only about 10-15 minutes to pull the dash top off. First time out, I'd guess about 30 minutes to take it out, about the same to put it back. So you can do the whole task yourself in a little over an hour.
The dash light bulbs are available from the dealer for $$, but probably worth it if a dealer is handy, just to make life simple. The bulbs are wire-lead bulbs in a plastic socket, almost like a Christmas Light. I buy wire lead bulbs from Radio Shack - 12 volt, 60 ma, miniatures. They come in a two-pack for about $1.80 or so. I unfold the leads of the old bulb, pull it out, stick in the new one, bend up the leads, and clip of the excess.
While you're in there, replace ALL the bulbs, especially the EDU bulbs.
Good luck!
