SRS light

Hi,
During the weekend I was repairing the headlamp wiper motor. To do this I had to remove headlamp and wiper motor itself. After all work had been done I noticed a SRS light on. First it is flashing and then it becomes steady. I know I have to go to dealer to reset it with ISAT, but because it is the second time when I have SRS light on after some work done to my car, I have a question.
What to do to protect the SRS system against faults caused by car maintenance and repairing? Should I remove th SRS fuse before I start working? Or I should disconnect the SRS module?
Help me please, because this is very annoying, and quite expensive (I wish I had ISAT). Besides there is always something to do in old cars (mine is '94) and it is possible that it will happen again sooner or later.
Thanks
Mariusz
