There is a switch at the top of the clutch pedal (and one on the brake pedal too) that tells the cruise control when you have pressed the clutch. This disengages the cruise control (or prevents it from engaging). Sometimes this switch requires adjustment. It is supposed to be self-adjusting, but I believe you can pull the plunger out a click or two if it has adjusted too far.
