ON top of the other problems raised here, my aircon (which was in the off position) did a weird thing yesterday.
I had been getting weird odors in the car - it smelled only very lightly of plastic melting - but I was unable to find the cause, and I wasn't sure if that was it either (also assumed that I would toast a fuse if that were the case). Having never smelt aircon gas, the chemical nature of the smell I thought could also be attributed to that as well.
As it seemed to come from the ventilation ducts I assumed it was related to the problem with the aircon. Anyway, it would last about two seconds and then vanish.
The last time i drove the car, I noticed a very faint rolling white vapour/mist drifting out of the central dash duct - I stopped the car and checked everywhere for what might have been location of the problem (expected flames to be billowing out of the hood) - again nothing. For all intents and purposes - you would automatically say that it was smoke - but it didn't have the same dispersive characteristics, it appeared much heavier and dissipated very quickly.

Obviously, I am going to have it serviced - but has anyone experienced this before? It seems linked to the intermittent fault mentioned in other posts, or maybe a consequence of this problem not being rectified.

I will post follow-up after I have been financially reemed by the SAAB mechanics. Or, if you dont hear from me again, assume that I have spontaneously combusted on an autoroute somewhere.
