H/K system speaker buzz - it's back, and won't go with a wiggle..

...right, it's back with a vengeance after about 9 months of hiss-free audio. The wiggle of the wiring when I stick my hand through the back of the ashtray remedies it for about 15 minutes. I have the radio cassette head unit and single CD immediately below.
What I HAVE determined is that the buzz is ignition related - if the ignition is at the accessories position, then there is no buzzing at all, but when on, there it is again, and wiggle solves the prob again (all be it briefly. I am now wondering if it is simply a noise suppressor problem. If no one has a better idea, I will be removing both headunits this weekend, and redoing / checking all the wiring.
