What do you mean, Sleeper? Any 9000 that has been neglected may be a major headache in the near future. I have a 1993 9000 with TCS (which I really like and the car is a joy to drive). It runs great, but little things were neglected by the previous owner, making my life very busy catching up on the maintenance. It isn't fun, or cheap. You can't just change the oil in these cars and drive 'em like you can a Honda.. you gotta love 'em all over.
Both my 9000's have been from hot climates. Don't get one from hot climates, these cars don't like the heat. I could really make a long list of heat related failures from cosmetics to drive components and wires, especially concerning my last 9000 (my last SAAB was from AZ and actually had the wire covering crumble and FALL OFF the wires in the engine compartment exposing the wires so they could short!.. try tracking those annoying failures down!). The bugs are mostly worked out of my '93 now, but it has taken me a bit. Course, that is all part of the courtship between you and your SAAB then isn't it? Time spent alone in the shop?
Anyway, my CSE is MUCH more fun to drive than my aunts '96 9000CS low pressure turbo. My car was not driven hard, and performs very well. If you buy an Aero, it will perform well, but chances are it was driven by someone who wanted a car that drove well... if you know what I mean. Plus you have to pay extra for an Aero, when a CSE is all you might really need.
Good luck.
John
