The symptom was a grind going into second from first, especially if I went over aboug 4500 rpm in first before shifting. It did feel like there was no synchro at all at these higher rpm's, but felt normal at lower rpm's. If I redlined it in first, I was sure to get grinding. Double clutching eliminated the grind, but pausing for a long time in neutral before selecting second did not. I had no problems with downshifting. I worry about our synchros, too, but if I can go another 50-60K without a rebuild I won't feel too bad, although 100K would be preferable. So far, no grind with the dino oil, and I've gone about 3-4K with the dino oil (10W30).
