Earlier this week my '87 9ks automatic began hesitating briefly before dropping hard into reverse from park. I've had no other problems with any other gear. I've got ~150k on the clock - this transmission was replaced ~30k ago. I've had regular transmission svc. since. I've read some of the past posts on replacement of the valve body springs and governor seals. I suspect this is more of a valve body problem, but is it possible that governor seals may also be part of the problem - my shifting points are OK? I've seen the video clip on the removal of the valve body from the transmission that's been posted here before. That's well w/in my ability. Is there any other available DIY information regarding the dismantling of the valve body once it is removed from the transmission, which springs (all?) to replace once dismantled, part nos., etc. Any help is appreciated.
