OK, gotcha. The DI cassette *can* fail, usually you will have some indication of the DI going bad before it actually fails, misfiring under load being the most common sympton. remove and look for signs of oil seeping out the cassette, a coil (and you have 4 seperate coils on a DI) is cooled by a surrounding oil bath. More info would be helpful, i.e. year/model/engine/mileage. Spark plug history is useful in tracking down a bad DI unit, plug condition is directly related to DI life.

You said that the car died suddenly. Does it turn over? with the key in the on position, can you hear the fuel pump running? help us out with some more info
