As I recall, the pressure is in the single digits, but I don't use a gauge in this procedure anymore. I suspect 20 psi applied to an inner tube without tire and rim support would quickly blow it up to the size of a basketball, and then just blow it up. When I bleed 9000 clutches I use thin-walled 'ten speed' tubes, as my MTB tubes proved too insensitive for visual monitoring. Thin tubes allow me to watch the pressure by observing the distension. I allow a distension of no more than about 4", which works well. Regulator pressure? Since I do not overtighten the clamp around the tube and reservoir mouth (inner tube gets can get chewed-up by stainless steel clamp) there is occasionally some air leakage. I adjust the regulator to achieve a steady inner tube distension state (this sounds much more academic than it is - in fact, a regulator isn't even necessary). I also gently pump the pedal while watching the flow and the bubbles. I found this takes less time and uses less fluid. It also prevents 'dead pedal'- a sign of incomplete bleeding. I am aware that Haynes or Bentley (or perhaps Alldata) state that pumping is not necessary, but my experience is different, and I don't know why. Keep an eye on the fluid level. I don't let it get below about 2" from the top of the reservoir on our 86 9kt's.
