The DOT frequently repaves the roads here in Northern Virginia (USA). In accomplishing this, they grind up the road with a big machine and recycle the material. I was on a stretch of roadway that was being "ground" up, the other evening. Low in behold, the ground up surface terminated abrubtly, whereupon I struck the orginal surface of the roadway, which happened to be 3 to 4" higher. DOH! Nice of the folks to put a warning in the road. Despite the ugly crashing sound, the robust suspension seems to have survived the impact (55MPH), however, I have at least one bent/warped super Aero wheel. My question is, can this be trued out and made round again? I've made up my mind now to replace the lousy DOT type headlamps, with E-Code rated lamps. Better lamps would have aided me in seeing this major road undulation in time.
