Some observations

I recently went through several weeks of Stubborn (me being too stubborn to take the car to my Saab Dealer) problems with my 90 9KT/automatic. After the dust settled it turned out that I needed an ECU for the Jetronic system.
I realize that it has a learning curve as it adjusts to the engine/my driving habits etc. but ever since the replacement, my milage has not been as good as it was prior to the problem, The car still has it's power albeit somewhat different than before and also the inside of the tailpipe is much cleaner... as in I can wipe the inside with my finger and get NO carbon or soot ( I used to before, with the old system).
Even with a new DI and several other parts it still takes at least four compression strokes to "figure out" #1/TDC etc. Which leads me to wonder if there is a fault in the memory (if it exists) in the ECU.
Any one have any thoughts / prior dealings with a problem like this?
Thanks in advance CW
