Something with the brakes?

Ok, here's what I know. In my 95 9kCS the left side will shake a little sometimes. Then by itself it will go away. The shaking is on the left side, and the left front wheel is hot. There is definitely a smell of brake dust. I took the front wheel and tire off and even the lug bolts were hot. Gas mileage is down at least 3 or 4 mpg with no change in driving style. I'm thinking that maybe the caliper is sticking when the shaking starts and then loosening back up again when it quits. Can anyone comfirm or deny my theory? If it is the caliper, can they be lubricated or should I just buy a new one? Do I have to do both sides? Are there good aftermarket brake parts or should I get stock Saab parts? I know there are a lot of questions here. I'm sorry this is so long. If anyone could help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
James
