The IAC is under the throttle body. Alldatadiy.com sez you need to remove the accel. cable and guide, and remove (but not remove from car) the intake plumbing, to separate the elbow from the throttle body.
Cleaning is an interesting prospect. I'm thinking mine needs a fairly profound cleaning, as it spontaneously gave up the ghost after sitting for a week recently.
My read on it's description is that the early ones were a single motor driving against a spring. Apparently from 91 on they were TWO motor windings in opposition. This makes me wonder if cleaning the valve-body is even worth the trouble, and removing the motor casing is probably a disaster. (I removed the motor case on my Taurus' rear window-drive, and what a massive pain. Truly cheaper to have bought a replacement...)
More when I take mine apart...Perhaps this week.
