There is a single band adjustment on the 9000 transmission. It can be done fairly easily with the tranny in the car. The adjustment is a socket in the front of the transmission (facing the front of the car) - you can see it hiding behind the AMM. This is from memory, but you loosen it, then tighten it to something low like 7 ft-lbs.
Of course, I have absolutely no idea what that band adjustment does. I did it on one of my cars, and saw no difference. My feeling is that a slipping is probably more due to a clutch slipping than the band. But the adjustment is a cheap thing to try. As Steve recommends, replace the tranny fluid if it's over 15K miles since the last change.
