I'm in the process of trying to change the driver's side balljoint on my '94 CSE non-turbo and have run into a few problems which I can't find answers to after a thorough search here. I am able to get the nut off the pinch bolt no problem but found that the bolt itself was pretty well frozen/rusted in place. Copious amounts of WD40 and a long extension on my breaker bar finally got it to turn, but it doesn't appear to be coming out after numerous revolutions. I also tried to (fairly gently) tap it out from the backside with a drift but no movement. Does this bole really *have* to come out to replace the balljoint? It seems to me that as long as the bolt isn't tight on there the pinch joint should be able to open enough to release the old balljoint and accept the new one. Any suggestions on getting that pinch bolt out?

Also, I'm going to attempt the use of a pickle fork to get the balljoint out. AutoZone claims that they have such tools to loan out -- we'll see. Do I need a really big hammer for this (will need to borrow/buy) or do you think my 16oz claw hammer do it? Yeah, I know that you can't have too big a hammer for suspension work. I'm going to try to find a friend with a short sledge or at least a heavy hammer anyway, but...
