Depends on where you get the motor from. I got mine from eeuroparts.com (great service, great prices, free shipping on orders over $50 if you mention saabnet - no affiliation, yadda yadda). It was just the motor, as most replacements other than from the dealer will be. To remove the fan cage from the motor, go to a vise, place cage motor-side down on top of the vise so that the old motor hangs between the jaws of the vise and the cage is supported at the bottom by the vise jaws, and drift the old motor out - use a punch/drift on the end of the shaft.
To reinstall the cage on the new motor place the motor on a solid surface (like a garage floor) with the end of the shaft at the motor end resting on the floor, place the cage over the new shaft and press it on. You can carefully tap it if needed, which is likely. You don't want to really hammer it so as to protect the bearings on the new motor.
Good luck,
Scott
