It was a Darlington transistor from Radio Shack. Check Quasi's site (see "other sites" on the TSN home page) for the Radio Shack part number. If you tell them it's Toshiba SD1525 or whatever, they won't be able to find it.
The heat transfer paste that Quasi mentions is important - ask me how I know this! If you know how to solder, it's not a hard job. Just make sure the transistor lies flat against the aluminum heat sink plate so you have good contact and good heat transfer. Inspect the old unit with attention to this detail before you remove the burnt out transistor. Without good contact, the new Darlington transistor will last less than 5 minutes, and you'll be sitting in the car saying, "what's that burning smell?"
I'm not sure if the fan speed controller on the front of the A/C evaporator housing is accessible in your model year without pulling out the false bulkhead. In '91, you have to pull the bulkhead, in '95 you don't. Even so, three bolts and the bulkhead comes straight up and out with a good tug.
