Bill, you may regret fitting the EBC pads with standard discs. I did so initially, and experienced the most tremendous graunching noises under braking (such as you would hear when your pads are shot). I thought this might be because I'd kept the old discs, so I bought the Trent ones and kept the Greenstuff, against Trent's advice I should say (cheapskate, I'm afraid). The graunches continued and only went away when I returned to standard pads, which are fine, even with the grooved discs. Will be intrigued to know what you find.
I think the Trent Saab discs are a bit fatter then standard, as I had some scraping noises under cornering which we got over by bending the sheet metal shield away from the discs a little.
Haven't experienced much fade, even with my automatic, but Aeros go that little bit faster, I understand...
