Whether car oil of the proper viscosity is okay in a bike has been a hot debate, but the consensus is that it is. If so, it would also be so conversely.
Chemically, motorcycle oil is fundamentally no different from its automotive counterpart, but since there remains a contingent of hard-core "only motorcycle oil for a motorcycle" riders, motorcycle oil is notoriously overpriced. For this reason it'd be wise to buy automotive oil for the Saab, unless you have a stockpile of bike oil lying around.
For example, Mobil 1 15w50 car oil is about $4/qt., while its 20w50 labeled as "V-Twin" oil is about $8. The chemistry is almost identical, but some will pay the difference because they think they should.
