Auto clutch problem after valve body spring replacement

I recently removed the transmission valve body and replaced the valve body springs in my '87 9ks auto. The problem I was addressing (hard drop into reverse from park) has been corrected. The reverse spring was broken.
Now, however, I've got a new problem that has arisen since the repair. When shifting from 2-3, I get a high pitched rubbing sound for a second. The shift is otherwise OK. If the 2-3 shift does not occur under acceleration (such as on a downhill or if I let off the accelerator at the time of the shift), there is no such sound. There is no sound w/the other shifts. I had my transmission shop service the transmission after the repair, and they say that it is the clutch. I also replaced the forward spring while I was in there. Is there something that I did that caused this new problem? What should I look for?
