Although I'm very happy with the carrying capacity of our 9000's, I use a 1980 900 to haul such things as, for example, hemlock telephone poles weighing hundreds of pounds (butt end 18 inches, poles cut down to 28 feet by Hydro authority). This particular 900 is permanently configured for such tasks. The rear seat is completely removed, as is the front passenger seat. Telephone pole butt goes into the passenger footwell and is cinched down with ratchet device attached to front seat crossmember. This vehicle is regularly stuffed with firewood, and has carried an 18 cu ft chest freezer (on a roof rack, as the interior was already stuffed with other things).
