Well the clutch has been working well enough lately for me to believe that I may have actually fixed it correctly the last time I tried. Perhaps this is overly optimistic but what the heck I can get into all six gears with a little time. I have certianly become much gentler on the clutch since dropping the tranny the second time. You could say that I fear it now in the biblical sense.
I plan to order mounts and bushings from eEuroparts this week and install them after recovering from the turkey this coming weekend. After that the only things making the car a threat to society will be the bum power steering rack. The power steering comes and goes in the car like the whims of being in a woman's good graces. I assume this means that the power steering pump works. I will eventually get around to flushing out the fluid but for now the system doesn't leak very much. The "Bar's Leaks" power steering conditioner may have had some positive effect on the system.
Anyone knowthe differece between Power steering fluid and Brake fluid? As they are both hydraulic systems I'm inclined to believe that the difference is only in boiling point.
The real question. When I start the car I have to crank the starter and pump the gas pedal for about 15 seconds. Afterwards the tachometer has the habit of bouncing up and down and sometimes stalling. Any ideas?
