I believe the Saab rack is hard to beat , although I do not have one . IMHO any rack that bolts directly to the roof is the only way to go . I had a "generic" roof rack that used nylon straps with metal clips that fit into the door openings at the top . (in lieu of rain gutters}. I found that at high speed the drag of the 2 bikes on the rack caused it to slide slightly to the rear tearing the rubber door seal at all 4 attachment points ! Since that occurred I carry only one bike INSIDE THE CAR . It fits in easily with the front wheel removed if the rear seat is folded . In fact I am pretty sure 2 bikes would fit laying them flat , with a sturdy piece of cardboard between.
