It IS the cabin air sensor fan (more) Posted by Gene N [Email] (#1094) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gene N) on Wed, 21 Nov 2001 11:25:36 In Reply to: It may be the cabin air sensor fan, but it would stop, jj, Wed, 21 Nov 2001 09:24:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The fan on the ACC temperature sensor (that bulls eye looking thing on the dash underneath the seat heater switches) can run for up to 3 minutes after the ignition is turned off. (It has to do with the ACC retaining its settings when the ignition is off briefly,)
Pry the cap off the front and look and see if there is a lot of dust and gunk built up on the fan. You can try cleaning it with compressed air, but the best solution is to remove the whole thing, clean it, and lubricate the fan motor.
The easiest way to remove the sensor is to take out the ACC control box (remove the ash tray and push it from behind). You can then get at the sensor from behind. It snaps into the dash. You should be able to feel the tabs.
I hope that this wasn't too much information!
