Hey gang...
Since I got no followups to my question of two weeks ago, I'm reposting it, with minor additions.....

My '91 9000 Turbo only makes it to base boost. Of course, I checked the usual sources for advice. Most of the stuff availible on the web seems to be all about the older 900 APC system. For instance, the BPC solenoid in the literature has two wires going to it and keeps the wastegate closed when powered on. It should click when the ignition switch is set to the run position.

The solenoid on my car has three wires, and is bi-polar. It does not click when the ignition goes on. Since it didn't click when the ignition was powered up, I was about to replace it (for many $$$), when I decided to test it with some voltage from DC power supply. Guess what? It works: with 8.5 volts applied center lead to left terminal... click.... center lead to right terminal... click! The valve function works too.

Disconnecting the Wastegate hose produced lotsa boost (way into the red... it was scary)... so the turbo's fine. Now I'd like to check out the rest of the system, but much of the stuff I've seen pertains to the 900 or some car other than my own....

The Haynes manual appears to be useless in this regard. Do any of you fellow Saabsters have valid schematics/location diagrams/recollections/reminicences or anecdotes pertaining to the proper operation of the '91 9000 non-Trionic APC system? Like what voltages should be present on the 3 terminals of the BPC solenoid? (Mine reads 12.2v on terminal 2 with respect to ground... what should the other terminals read?

Any and all good advice will be appreciated. Thanks again.
