I posted a few days ago about finding this car and thanks for the responses you guys posted.
I now have spoken with the dealer (a used car dealer) and he says that the car is really a perfect 10. He deals (usually) solely in Japanese cars and so he says that the only reason he bought the car in the first place was because it was perfect--he doesn't know anything about how to fix Saabs, so he didn't want to take anything that wasn't already in great condition to sell. I'm a little perplexed as to why he wasn't able to sell the car--I think it's a combination of not being in the right area (for demand) and not putting it in the right places to advertise.
SO, the car is a 93 9000CS Turbo with 115k miles. He said that he's got it on his personal lot for $6000, but he said that he's considering selling it to a wholesaler for around $4000-4500. I told him I was looking at the $4500 area and I asked him if this was a feasible price--he said that, although he'd rather sell it for at least $5000, he'd rather sell it to me than to the wholesaler, so he could get closer to $4500 if need be.
What do people think? If the car's pristine and the records show that it's clean, should I go for it? Does $4500 seem like a good price for the car? Will I be heading straight into a repair cycle or should I be good to go for a while at 115k?
Is there anything specific I should ask him about/take note of when I go see the car? From the pictures he e-mailed, it looks very good (even has a trailer hitch!).
Oh, and one more thing--how easy is it to add foglights? I can't tell (as I've never owned or inspected a 9000 that carefully) if there's a place already prepared for me to put the lights in or if it's a big pain.
Thanks for your help!
