Some background Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: No such animal as a LPT Aero, stuart, Thu, 29 Nov 2001 16:21:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I suggest you check around places like

for more information.
The normal 9000T is a full pressure turbo. Up until around 93, the 9000 came in non-turbo and turbo models, the Turbo having a T in it. In '93, they came out with the Low pressure turbo, usually (but not always) a CS. The CSE was the full -pressure turbo. The Aero came out in '93, and is a performance version of the already good full pressure turbo. The easiest way to tell if a car is an Aero is to look on the back for the Aero badging. The seats are different - more like racing buckets, and the rear seats are less like a bench and have higher side bolsters.
The Aero is a very good car, but from the sound of your questions, you're missing some basic background on the 9000 model range. Are you looking for an Aero because you expect it to be head and shoulders above a standard turbo, like a V8 Mustange compared to a 4 cylinder? The Aero is a higher performance model, but it's not THAT much faster. Make sure you know what you're looking for. A decent 9000T is a pretty quick car, and can be modified to be as fast or faster than an Aero.
good luck!
