Quasi's site is a little innacurate on this point (and I think he even says he's not sure on that point). If you have the resistor pack, you have AC and heat as items that you set yourself, right? You don't have climate control where you just set the cabin temp and let the computer do the work?
If the above is true, I don't believe you have a choice about which controller to use...
ACC (Automatic Climate Control) from '85-91 used the "black box" controller I asked about. '92-98 used a similar box, but with a bigger, more efficient heatsink. The main difference between ACC 1 and 2 is the ACC 2 has an 'off' button on the dash control. ACC 1, the fan is always running, even if very low. That said, they are NOT interchangable. The connectors are the same, but the electronics are different.
