I have a 1995 saab 9000cse turbo 5spd. some things to look out for/replace etc..
1. turn on heat, if you smell maple syrup odor and the window fog then you most likely need a heater core (expensive) these go quite frequently on these cars
2.motor mounts (although with 50k not likely an issue) rev the engine and have someone look at the engine, it should not move too much
3. Direct Ignition cassette. these are all over the place as far as durability goes. vital that the ONLY plugs used are NGK (BCPR-7ES-11) as i found out they are pregapped to 1.1 mm but should be reduced to 9mm. changing the plugs frequently (every 12k) can help the DI cassette last (the DI or Direct Igntion Cassete is $300 USD)
4.Harmon Kardon radios are renowned for buzzing and general static interference. noone seems to have a technical solution.
5. listen for timing chain rattle on idle (probably not an issue but who knows) if the chain breaks on these cars the valves impact the pistons
the specs that i am aware of are 200hp and 244lbs of torque.
i would get a k&N air filter as a cheap upgrade in power i have noticed improved throttle response..
otherwise these cars are very durable (i have 142k miles and it runs very well with little if any rattles etc that you would normally see on a new car)
