Guys, I have recently bought a 1991 Saab 9000 2.3 turbo.

Nice car, just sorting out the few things that don't work.

It seems to have had a new boot on it at some point, perhaps from a breakers ?

Anyway, the rear wiper assembly has no back to it. The wiring harness is just hanging there with the motor/gears showing.

However, I connected power across the motor and it works fine (all beit, the wiper just goes roung is a circle over the rear spoiler !).

There appears to be 5 wires coming in to the motor, though tracing these back,2 are not blanks. So 3 wires.

There are 3 connectors on the back of the gear box, and the 2 connectors on the motor (one with an inductor connected to it... probably for smooth startup).

A look inside the gear box shows a common ring around the centre gear which has a connector on it and two teeth coming out of that, that will connect to the 2 other connectors for a quick pulse as it rotates.

So.. how the heck does this wire up to work ? Clearly it must basically work by getting to a certain point, then reversing the motor, etc, etc.

Either:

1) I'm missing components from in there
2) I'm missing connectors
3) It's doing something feindishly clever.

Can anyone tell me what the color of wires are supposed to be and where they are supposed to go to this ??
