... the CS and CSE engines will be the same. The exception may be 1998 models, where in the US, at least, the CSE with manual transmission had the 225HP engine. Then again, I don't think there were any CS models imported into teh US in '98. I suspect the Canadian market was similar to the US.
i.e. a CS 2.3T will have the same engine (and ECU) as a CSE 2.3T of the same period. This means that, assuming the engine is a 2.3, you have a full-pressure 200HP engine there. We know it's full pressure because you say it has a BPC. While the LPT engines were available in all trim levels in Europe, the general rule seems to be that only the CS in the US (and Canada?) came in LPT form. It it were an LPT, you'd need the BPC and the ECU from an FPT. I think a '97 LPT will already have an intercooler.
The trim differences you noticed are the only differences between the CS and CSE, given the same engine option. I believe the later CSE did get the 16" wheels.
