This can be adjusted at the coupler just in front of the firewall. If you've made no changes recently, there is a good chance that this is your first indicatior that the rubber bushing in the coupler is worn. If that fails, your ususally stuck with only 2 and 4 gears. Look for a brass colored connector with a ruber doughnut on the shift linkage.
