I mentioned this in the discussion about removing the front torque arm bushing. More accurately kneeling, I guess, but it looks like you're standing on the engine to amused onlookers. When I was sawing at the bushing casing, I couldn't reach it from the passenger side without leaning hard on the sheetmetal (worried I would permanently bend it) or from the front. I did about what Shahn did, but I think I ended up putting one foot on the valve cover at one point to get leverage while prying at it with a screwdriver.
It would be hard (impossible?) to actually stand up on the engine and do any work, so I do understand your confusion.
