Wheel alignment, geometry and interpretation

In devising a method of setting the wheel alignment on my '96 9000 Aero (I'll publish it when I get it working), I come up against a problem of interpretation of specifications.
Standard 9000 wheel alignment is specified as 1.5mm toe-in. Having done some reading about suspension/steering design, the wheel alignment expressed as a linear measurement always specifies the difference between the distance measured between the leading edges of the wheel rims and the distance between the trailing edges. The Haynes manual backs this up.
Fine. I can live with that, although this means we are talking about a very small deviation from the centreline (0.375mm at each edge of each wheel).
However, Abbott recommend 1mm toe-in if using poly control arm bushes. In itself, again no problem. However, they say that this is equivalent to 10' (1/6 deg.). My research says this is a 10' angle from the centreline. Again, the Haynes manual agrees.
Well, try as I might, I cannot reconcile the angle with the linear measurement. However, 10' toe-in at each wheel gives approximately 2mm toe-in according to the definition above for linear measurement (I assumed 15" wheels, since that's what most 9000s have).
Can anyone see where I'm going wrong?
Tomorrow, I'm going to set my alignment to either 1.0mm or 0.5mm, depending on whether or not I've got it right. I'm aiming for 1.0.
