Volumetric efficiency and compressor maps (long)

I assume that the boost/flow analysis is not very straight forward in an intercooled engine with other additional restrictions in the intake system. The pressure ratio across the compressor is different than what can be seen on the boost gauge. In addition, the temperature (volume) of the air changes a lot during its travel from the ambient to the intake ports. Furthermore the basic volumetric efficiency of the engine itself will probably change with the boost pressure because of changing exhaust back pressure and other things.
Does anyone know the peak torque RPM level for the non-turbo 2,3? It probably has different cam profiles, though, and the turbo engines volumetric efficiency might peak at lower rpms because of this.
I would think that all this makes it really difficult to analyse the compressor maps.
Any comments?
