Don't pry on the ACC unit! Remove the ash tray, reach in and gently push the ACC controller from behind. It pops right out, and you don't risk damage to the dash. Then carefully pry the "bullseye" cover off the front and gently release the two tabs (top & bottom) holding the sensor unit in. Unplug and remove, being careful not to let the wiring harness disappear into the far reaches of the dash. Before replacing the sensor, clean it really well and oil the bearings for the fan. Be careful of the plug when reinstalling - the pins on the plug and sensor are labeled 1-4 and should be reinstalled to match. You can carefully disassemble the sensor a bit to get access to the bearing for the fan at the plug end of the unit. Following these steps fixed a temp. fluctuation problem with my '94 CSE.
