Weeks ago I lost brake boost. The ABS pressurising pump would not run. I checked the fuses and relays, all okay, all I got was the ABS & brake fluid warning lights 100% of the time. Took the car to my dealer, who told me I needed "everything" replacing for C$2500, I said no way to this. Went to take my car home, guess what, the lights are off and the brakes work fine.
Since then the brake boost has been off twice - for a day and two days, but comes back by itself. Since then I found that there is no fault code retention in the ABS 'brain' so I can't check what the fault is. I've tried to buy an ABS 'brain' from a 91 but have'nt got one yet (this one does retain fault codes). So, anyone out there have any ideas??? I checked the wiring, connectors, fluid level, fuses, relays and all okay. As long as the pump runs the brakes work great, so what is happening?
