Besides up and down at the front and back, Posted by Gene N [Email] (#1094) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gene N) on Wed, 19 Dec 2001 11:25:25 In Reply to: Re: Did you use the emergency crank to close it?, sully, Tue, 18 Dec 2001 15:05:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the sun roof can also be adjusted forward (towards the front of the car) and back (towards the rear). The factory shop manual recommends putting a piece of cardboard at the back of the sunroof and closing the sunroof (from the tilt back position, obviously). That didn't work for me, but what did work was to loosen the screws on one side, and push the sun roof glass forward, then tighten. I repeated the process on the other side, and the roof went up and down in the tilt mode much better when I was finished.
If you've fooled with this at all, you know the drill: you can't adjust all of the screws with the roof in one position. You have to shuttle the roof back and forth, only loosening and adjusting one screw at time.
When I was satisfied with the glass position, I took each screw out one at a time and put Blue Loctite on it to hold it.
