first your pump is working and that is good.

There are a number of check valves in the system.

First make sure the nozzles are not clogged. Find a needle or thin wire or a strand of copper wire etc..., then carefully stick it into each of the tiny openings of the nozzle. I would suggest you do the front first, since that is more important than the back.

Run the washer again, if some fluid comes out, then that's the end of story. If not, then read on...

Open up the hood, right underneath the nozzles, you should see two check valves, one "T" shape on the driver side and one "L" shape on the passenger side (you are in the US right ?).

See the little hose that comes up from the top of the false fire wall cover ? Yes, the one that goes into one end of of the "T" shaped valve. Pull that hose off the "T", you now has disconnected all upper check valves from your washer circuit. Run the washer again, if the check valve by your washer bottle is still good, you should get fluid coming out of the disconnect end, and you get a hosing of the washer fluid all over the false fire wall or engine :-0.

If you get fluid out then it's most likely your "T" and/or "L" check valve(s) is(are) sticky. I would suggest buying new ones unless you are strapped for cash. The "T" is about $11 **EACH** from your Saab dealer, the "L" is a bit cheaper. If there is still no fluid out of the disconnected end...then...you need a bit more work to do.

My guess would then be the check valves near the pump. This valve is difficult to get to. If you are handy, and slim, you can get to this valve from the bottom of the car. You need to remove some bottom covers, not easy if the fasteners are rusted. You just need to remove those near the washer bottle side. Then crawl under the car (hope you don't have an Aero because it is lower than a regular 9K and it's a bit tougher to get under it and guess how I found out :-). If you have the usual jack/stand or ramps, this would be a time to use it. If you prefer, you can also take the wheel off and then the wheel cover on the washer bottle side, this makes access much easier. If you get this far, then you can see the washer bottle and the remaining checkvalves are right by the pump.

By now you should understand what you should be looking for or check, right ? If not, then let us know.

Good luck and don't squirt too much washer fluid on yourself or the car.

Happy holidays.
