why can't anyone agree?

allright, please help me understand this:
after looking into new plugs for my '92 9kS, seems like no one can agree on which plug is right. Swedish Auto Specialists claim the NGK BCP5ES is right for the 2.3 litre, and the NGK BCP7ES-11 is correct for the '91 di.
the ngk site claims that the BCP6ES is the right plug. everyone says bosch are crap, and ngk is the only way to go. how come it seems no one is solid on which one? i currently pulled out a set of BCP7ES-11's which were gapped way too big (around .047) and made my car really chug. i just installed some NGK BCP6ES-11's and while it seems to run fine, it seems louder and now i smell a little more "something" out of the tail pipe. When i search the NGK site for the BCP7ES plugs, no such thing exists! what gives?? anyone with any solid insight and/or experience, i'd greatly appreciate it a.s.a.p. happy holidays!
p.s.
is it ok to use NGK's platinum plugs or their v-groove plugs with my di? ('92 9kS, 98k miles)
