Hey Drew, I was listening when you posted that you'd be getting this car a few days ago and I read others inputs about it. The problems your having are pretty similar to those that others here have had with our older SAAB's. I myself have had both of these problems and this is what I'll say about them.
The window motor may be fine but the cable could be broken. In this case you could probably replace the cable itself with parts foind locally, I'd simply replace the entire unit with those found USED on e-bay all day long for like $20-40 bucks. It's not too hard a job and should take less than say 2 hours. Of course when you take off the door panel you'll be able to see axactly what's wrong. Doing that will clue you into the problem big time
The climate control fan squeels becaus the bearings inside the blower motor are about to crap themselves. In time it will get louder and really annoying. I simply pulled the fusse that controls mine cause I couldn't stand it anymore. I've yet to have it fixed but, I still have heat and AC there just isn't a blower for the unit. These can also be bought from of e-bay for $75-100 or so. I understand the replcing of the unit is a little involved and partly the reason I haven't tackled the job yet. I'll wait til spring... Phil
