And it ain't necessarily comfortable to us. The old manual temp control system feels warmer 'cause it was. With the manual we adjust it to get that nice warm flow of air on our little feeties. Wifey happy, no grip'n makes life easier. Then a long time ago some engineer thought it would be great to make it like the house thermostat. We set it on our dream setpoint, and if the cabin is a way from it the servo calls for HEAT! We get heat and the setpoint / cabin temp difference lessens which results in the level of heat delivered. The closer that the cabin reaches to the setpoint the more the control cuts back. If you open door or window for a few doesn't it kick back into blast furnace mode? My wife just puts it to 82°F and likes the toast.
As for the 2° steps it is based on Celcius which is 1.8°F steps. So you are really bumping it 1°C steps but they show us °F to placate us. We shoulda changed a couple of hundred years ago. Now doesn't that make you feel warmer. Give me a manual control twisties or slidies that don't require 1200 bucks to replace.
